I don’t know about you but I absolutely love the Funko Pop! collectibles. If you’ve been living under a rock, they’re this super adorable vinyl collector line that features pop culture characters. You can find them in a lot of stores worldwide. These collectibles been around for a few years, but they especially rose to popularity in 2014.
I own a couple of Pops, so I’ll be featuring each one of them in this blog. To start off, this entry will be a review of Scrump from Disney’s Lilo and Stitch.
Disney’s Lilo and Stitch: Scrump (FM 141105)
One thing I like about Funko Pops is how easy it is to open the box. You can keep your figures inside neatly or pop them out- just pull the plastic casing inside and you’re good to go. 100% No tapes or twist ties. Once you’re done, you simply pop your figures back inside the plastic casing and place the whole thing inside the box. It looks as good as new from there.
Here she is out of the box! Scrump has got this interesting woven texture. You can even feel it when you slide your fingers on the figure. I do like it because it adds detail- it makes it look like Scrump is a ragdoll. The mismatched button eyes and stitched mouth look really adorable too. Very good paint job too (and I made sure of it when I purchased her!). Scrump’s little hair on top is cute too- it’s made out of a softer type of vinyl so it can bend on one side. Don’t worry, it’s not as flimsy and is still durable though just as long as the figure isn’t used for rough play. (Note: Funko Pop! vinyl figures are not toys. Don’t give them to very young children.)
The back has more of the woven texture going on. Scrump also has this puffy bow on her head. Really good detail on the puffiness and the folds. Below the head, there are a few cute folds too and I think it’s cute because it gives Scrump a more cloth-like feel even if she is made of hard vinyl here.
The Scrump Funko Pop! is also relatively smaller in height than your average Pop. The photo above is of her with the Winter Soldier from Marvel’s Captain America.
Here’s who else you can get in this Disney’s Lilo and Stitch collection. There are two more variations of Stitch to add to the old existing original. Lilo looks adorable too! Maybe I should get her too one of these days.
Overall, I’m very happy with what Funko did to their vinyl Scrump. The first time I laid eyes on her, I knew I just had to get her! True enough, she eventually showed up in my local collector’s store so I got to purchase her.
I just love all of Scrump’s details. She has this edgy, ragdoll feel but at the same time, she also looks adorable. I have this current fondness of drawing ragdolls so it was great to have a solid version of one that is reminiscent of my drawings. Especially since it’s also from a Disney movie I loved growing up.
Scrump now stands by my laptop as she is one of my favorite Funko Pops. I’m very happy in the design direction Funko is taking. It’s a major improvement compared to their older Pops.
