My Favorite Things: April 2015

My Favorite Things: A Blog Linkup

Happy May, everyone! To start off, I thought I’d try doing my own version of My Favorite Things. April proved to be an awesome geeky month so I wanted to share just what made it so for me. You’ll be seeing what kind of fandoms (pop culture whooo) I’ve immersed myself into along the way. Here goes!

Warning: Geekgasms.

Avengers: Age of Ultron

As a Marvel fan, I was stoked for Age of Ultron. I grew up watching X-Men: Evolution so I was extremely excited to see both the Maximoff twins in this movie version. (And true enough… Personally, I enjoyed this second Avengers movie more than the first.)

My family and I watched on April 24th at our local IMAX theater. I dressed up as Scarlet Witch to get in the mood.

My Triangl Bikini

For those who don’t know, I graduated last month. As a gift, my parents got me a Ruby Capricorn Triangl bikini. Sadly, this bikini has already been retired. What a shame. It looks so pretty in person. I love the whole neoprene feel of it and I can’t wait to wear it to the beach this June!

My Fire Nation Hoodie

A very close cousin gave this Fire Nation hoodie to me as a graduation gift. I had been eyeing this hoodie for a while (I was one of those kids who grew up with Avatar: The Last Airbender) so I’m very thankful my cousin was nice enough to get it for me. Now I can channel my inner Zuko! Time to get my honor back. (Want me to do a review of this? Let me know in the comments.)

Star Wars Trailers

Star Wars Celebration: Anaheim seemed like a lot of fun. Since I live on the other side of the world, the most I could do was tune in to the livestream. And that’s exactly what I did at 3am.

The trailer for Force Awakens made me so giddy, I couldn’t sleep that night. I’ve been a Star Wars fan since I was 6 and the prequels (and the trilogy too) were a huge part of my childhood. I was in grade school when the last Star Wars film: Revenge of the Sith came out (2008 Clone Wars doesn’t count) and little me wouldn’t ever imagine myself getting to see another trailer for an upcoming Star Wars film 10 years later.

Along with the Force Awakens, the Star Wars Rebels season 2 trailer premiered on the same event. I’m so stoked for this one too! Can’t wait to see more of Sabine Wren, the Ghost Crew, my favorite guy: Darth Vader, and the surprise appearances by Clone Wars characters.

My Recent Clothing Haul

Not an April thing, but… the other day (May 5), my family and I visited my Grandma’s ashes. She passed away earlier this year and May 5th was her birthday; she would have been 90.

Anyway, after the visit, we headed to the mall. What a short stay turned out to be an impromptu shopping trip. The mall we went to had a bazaar/flea market area and I got to pick up a bunch of interesting clothing pieces. Here they are below:

American Flag tank top, Fishnet top, two pairs of awesome Leggings, and a black cropped tube top

I am especially digging the two pairs of leggings I bought. Pink, paint splats-filled, messy, artsy designs? I’m your girl!

What a month! How about you? What were your own favorite things from the month of April?

  1. I really enjoyed Age of Ultron! That’s awesome that you dressed as Scarlet Witch for the occasion 🙂

The bikini looks really cute! I also love your Fire Nation hoodie. That’s such a cool design. Avatar: The Last Airbender is one of my favorite series!

I think the newest trailer made every Star Wars fan giddy, haha. It definitely made me very excited. I grew up with the prequels, and they remain a few of my favorite movies.

    Nice clothing haul!
