My brother and I were talking about our favorite Play Station 1 games recently so I thought I’d mention one of them in this month’s Timeless Thoughts entry. I’m not a gamer so it’s not common for me to bring up a game and dedicate an entire blog post to it. That’s how memorable this game was for me.
Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped. Did anyone else play that game growing up? It was my favorite among the three Crash Bandicoot games. I would loooovvee to play it again but since our PS1 is no longer in tip-top shape, the only access I have at the moment is by watching gameplays on YouTube.
Here’s what it’s about: The game involves Crash Bandicoot racing across time by going through different levels- shown as mini games (plus little Bonus levels in between) that you need to complete at different locations. Once you complete the number of levels needed in that specific location, you end up fighting the assigned boss for that place. The game ends once you complete all the locations and defeat all the bosses.
And yeah, that’s pretty much what I recall.
This was my favorite level. In this one, you play Coco Bandicoot and let her race across with her pet tiger.
Here are some other memorable levels!
The main characters are great but the villains were an interesting bunch too. They had different personalities and came in different shapes and sizes.
The game is whimsical and very reminiscent of a cartoon. It has its own aesthetic and it goes well with its gameplay. Overall, I feel it has aged well.
